Pushed to their limits by service rival Air Force, Army’s women’s rugby players summoned their inner strength one more time Sunday night.
In the championship match of the 2025 Armed Forces Sports Women’s Rugby Championship the All-Force team, bolstered by an influx of new talent gave Army its best shot.
The Airmen raced to a 14-5 first half lead following scoring tries by Staff Sgt. Isabelle Burr and Tech. Sgt. Chanel Kung.
The Soldiers, down at the half for the third time in the tournament, put their faith in their game plan, the players said. Army had already overcome halftime deficits in wins against Navy and Coast Guard earlier in the tournament.

After decisive wins over Coast Guard and the Marine Corps, the All-Air Force Women’s Rugby team battled Navy to the final minute Saturday night in the 2025 Armed Forces Women’s Rugby Championship.
Army erased a 15-7 deficit vs. Navy to win 27-15, then rallied from behind for another victory, 31-14 vs. Coast Guard.
