NAS Jacksonville, Fla. — The "Fighting Tigers" of Patrol Squadron Eight (VP-8) have begun their journey back home to Naval Air Station Jacksonville, marking the end of a successful six-month deployment to the U.S. 6th and 7th Fleet areas of responsibility.

For the first time in the 79-year history of Naval Air Station Jacksonville (NAS Jax), a base sports team has won a national championship. The NAS Jax Flyers Basketball Team brought home the trophy after defeating Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in the 2019 Military Basketball Association (MBA) championships at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, April 14-15.
Military members and their families rocked out to a variety of songs played by the Lt. Dan Band featuring Gary Sinise, an actor and advocate for Wounded Warriors, during a free concert at Naval Air Station Jacksonville (NAS Jax) Feb. 22.
