    The 49th Public Affairs Detachment "War Correspondents" is an Airborne heritage SRC-45 unit consisting of Paratroopers that deliver the information advantage to the 82nd Airborne Division, XVIII Airborne Corps, Western Hemisphere Command, U.S. Army and the Joint Force. We are a team of professional communicators that embody the War Correspondent mentality! Through embed missions, the 49th PAD preserves and promotes the Division’s reputation by producing public affairs products that showcase the 82nd Airborne Division commanding general’s priorities: Prepare For War, Care for our People, Project Power and Adapt!

    The Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) program is an Army sanctioned program that was founded in 1989. BOSS was established to improve morale of single Soldiers across the Army by utilizing the four pillars of service. The four pillars of BOSS are life skills, quality of life, community services, and recreation and leisure.
