Members of the 349th Air Mobility Wing render their first salute to Col. Matthew J. Ihlenfeld following his assumption of command during the wing's assumption of command ceremony, July 11, 2026. The first salute symbolizes the formal recognition of the new commander by the Airmen entrusted to serve under their leadership. As the largest associate wing in the Pacific, the 349th Air Mobility Wing provides combat ready Reserve Citizen Airmen who integrate with active duty counterparts to deliver airlift, aerial refueling and aeromedical evacuation missions, strengthening the operational reach and readiness of the U.S. Air Force Reserve and the joint force.
