在沖米海兵隊は、3月下旬以降、新型コロナウィルス感染拡大を最小限に抑えるため、基地外での活動を制限するなど厳格な健康保護措置を講じてきました。7月上旬に普天間飛行場及びキャンプ・ハンセンで2カ所の集団感染が確認されたことを受けて、海兵隊は米軍及び沖縄県民の安全と保護を確保するために不断の努力を重ねてきました。周到な健康保護の取り組みにより、海兵隊は感染の拡大を抑制することができました。
