U.S. Airmen assigned to the 39th Operations Support Squadron hosted andparticipatedin a 9/11 Memorial Tower Climb at Incirlik Air Base, Türkiye, Sept. 11, 2026.
Commemorating 25 years since the Sept. 11,2001,terrorist attacks, the 39th Air Base Wing joined the Department of the Air Force and service members worldwide in honoring the2,977lives lost.This includes honoring victims within the Department of War, specifically the Pentagon employees, service members, and American Airlines Flight 77 passengers,as well asthe selfless first responders who ran toward danger at the World Trade Center, the Pentagonand Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
In addition to paying tribute to the fallen, the memorial climbserves to educate youngergenerations born since 2001 on the enduring fortitude,resilienceand unity of the American people. The eventalsoremembersthe sacrifices of veterans and Gold Star families who supported operations throughout the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.
25years later, Airmenat the 39ABWremain resolved todeter aggression, projectpowerandstayreadyalongside Allies and partners.
