LAWTON, Okla. – Soldiers of the 1st Battalion, 14th Field Artillery Regiment (1-14th FAR), 75th Field Artillery Brigade (75th FAB), took off from the Lawton - Fort Sill Regional Airport for their deployment to Grafenwoehr, Germany, June 28, 2025.
1-14th FAR will be attached to 41st Field Artillery Brigade (41st FAB) during their months-long deployment to the region in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve (OAR). The mission of OAR is to deter adversaries and reassure NATO by having a constant, strong U.S. presence in the region to train alongside and defend NATO Allies.
1-14th FAR, the only battalion in the III Armored Corps which employs the M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), employs Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System rockets, Precision Strike missiles, and the Army Tactical Missile System in support of large-scale combat operations.
41st FAB serves as the only U.S. Army field artillery brigade for the European theater and provides U.S. Army Europe with close support and long-range precision artillery for joint and multinational exercises such as Dynamic Front, Saber Guardian, and more. During their rotation, 1-14th FAR will join 41st FAB under the command of V Corps, the only forward-deployed U.S. Army corps in Europe. V Corps provides the essential U.S. component of defense for NATO’s eastern flank, including 41st Field Artillery Brigade, 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, 2d Cavalry Regiment, and units on rotation as part of OAR. V Corps has had command and control of all OAR rotational units since 2021, increasing readiness and providing realistic, multinational training exercises alongside NATO Allies. This side-by-side training creates a stronger, more unified Europe that deters adversaries and reassures NATO.
