GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --
The Crossroads offered a change of pace for students with the annual talent show, providing them with a chance to relax and watch their classmates perform on Goodfellow, Apr. 16.

Due to the pandemic, last year’s talent show was held virtually. With the lowering of restrictions, students were able to perform live with an in-person audience.

“Due to COVID-19, our last talent show was virtual and I didn’t feel like the students experienced the full capability of what the participants had to offer,” said Jessica Cox, Crossroads coordinator. “Being able to see the talent live just gives you a completely different feeling and appreciation for music.”

Judges of the competition consisted of base leadership: Col. James Finlayson, 17th Training Wing vice commander, Chief Master Sgt. Casy Boomershine, 17th TRW command chief, Master Sgt. Cedric Jackson, 17th Training Support Squadron first sergeant, and Master Sgt. Nicholas Schulte, 17th Training Group superintendent of military training.

Airman Basic Kaden Ennis, 316th Training Squadron student, achieved third place with a ukelele cover of “Don’t Give Up On Me” by Andy Grammar.

Pvt. Teagen Leavitt, 344th Military Intelligence Battalion student, came in second place with an acapella cover of “She Used to be Mine” by Sara Bareilles.

Coming in first place with an original piece, “Billy”, Airman 1st Class Jason Sorrell, 316th TRS student, as lead singer and Airman 1st Class Seth Sirgany, 316th TRS student, playing the drums.
