MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho – Members of the 428th Fighter Squadron gathered to celebrate the eighth anniversary of the Peace Carvin V partnership agreement here, May 19.

The Peace Carvin program, which brings the U.S. Air Force and the Republic of Singapore Air Force together four other RSAF detachments around the U.S. all specializing in different aircraft. The fifth installation is the 428th FS operating F-15SG Strike Eagles alongside the 391st and 389th FSs’ F-15Es.

“The importance of the anniversary is to celebrate the success and achievements we’ve had over the past eight years,” said ME4-2 Tan Eng Ann, 428th Chief. “Being here we also want to be engaged, the anniversary gives us an opportunity to invite the wing and the Mountain Home community to have them celebrate with us.”

The evening featured a variety of food and carnival style games including pool noodle fights. Attendees wore pirate costumes in homage to the 428th FS’s moniker, the Buccaneers.

Since the 428th FS was reactivated in 2009, it has built a list of accomplishments from firing the first Foreign Military Sales AIM-9X Sidewinder to its participation in exercises Red Flag Alaska, Maple Flag in Canada and Forging Sabre at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. It also produced the first graduates of the Singaporean Fighter Weapons Instructor Course here in 2016.

Most recently, the Buccaneers participated for the second time in operation Combat Hammer at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, where they trained with their newest munitions.

“Having the opportunity to attend Combat Hammer and perform in such an environment just highlights the partnership between the USAF and RSAF,” said Lt. Col. Donald Sandberg, 428th Fighter Squadron commander. “When you take the lethality, competence and discipline for both air forces, and pair those together—it really shows that when the two air forces work together the partnership is unstoppable.”
