A group of individuals dressed in WWII-era U.S. Army uniforms and helmets are riding in an olive-drab Willys MB military jeep on a rural road. The vehicle displays markings '82AB-X' and 'SV-4', consistent with 82nd Airborne Division reenactment insignia. The setting and equipment suggest this is a historical reenactment or commemorative event.

World War II reenactors ride in a restored World War II-era 1/4-ton 4x4 military jeep during the 82nd Remembrance Ride in Groesbeek, Netherlands, Sept. 19, 2026. The ride brought history back onto the roads of Groesbeek, where restored vehicles and reenactors helped connect the community to the Soldiers who fought there during Operation Market Garden.
As the United States marks 250 years of independence, Operation Market Garden commemorations offer a living example of the long relationship between Americans and the Dutch. From Dutch trade and support during the American Revolution, symbolized by the First Salute at St. Eustatius in 1776, to American and Allied forces fighting together in the Netherlands in 1944, that history continues today through communities that preserve the memory of those who served and through and enduring U.S.-Dutch partnership.
