Three U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technicians assigned to EOD Mobile Unit 9 perform routine maintenance on gear and equipment aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Chafee (DDG 90) July 23, 2026. This training provides EOD Technicians with a highly realistic maritime environment to hone their tactical skills while simultaneously enhancing the ship's overall force protection readiness and strengthening interoperability between surface and expeditionary forces. Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet ensures fleet commanders are provided with personnel, materiel and training required to project credible naval power at sea, ashore, at home and abroad.
