    U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), signal to a U.S. Marine Corps F-35B Lightning II pilot assigned to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 211, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, prior to executing a simulated expeditionary airstrike as part of routine training off the coast of California, Aug. 24, 2026.
