Spc. Bryan L. Madinger placed first and Sgt. Aaron Rivera placed second in the ultra heavyweight division of the Illinois Army National Guard’s Modern Army Combatives Tournament, Aug. 22-23, at American Jujitsu in Springfield, Ill. Madinger is a nursing student at Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville and Soldier in the 2nd Battalion, 130th Infantry Regiment The tournament included two days of intense competition and developing hand-to-hand combat skills.
