    3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne)

U.S. Paratroopers assigned to the 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division and U.S. Green Berets assigned to 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) practice undetected dismounted infiltration techniques for a rescue mission during a Foreign Internal Defense Exercise (FIDEX) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Aug. 26, 2026. The execution of a FIDEX enables special operations forces to strengthen their ability to rapidly integrate, synchronize capabilities and respond to emerging operational requirements with conventional forces while validating SOF core capabilities and building collective readiness. FID is a doctrinal mission of the special operations and involves training, advising, and assisting host-nation military forces to protect their country against subversion, lawlessness or insurgency.
