A group of U.S. Army soldiers in OCP (Operational Camouflage Pattern) uniforms are gathered inside a covered training facility around what appears to be a terrain model or sand table exercise. Two soldiers in the center are actively manipulating the model using long-handled tools, while others observe from the background. The scene depicts a military planning or training exercise with simulated terrain features and ammunition cans used as props or markers.

U.S. Green Berets assigned to 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) present a convoy brief to U.S. Paratroopers assigned to 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division during a Foreign Internal Defense Exercise (FIDEX) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Aug. 26, 2026. The execution of a FIDEX enables special operations forces to strengthen their ability to rapidly integrate, synchronize capabilities and respond to emerging operational requirements with conventional forces while validating SOF core capabilities and building collective readiness. FID is a doctrinal mission of the special operations and involves training, advising, and assisting host-nation military forces to protect their country against subversion, lawlessness or insurgency.
