Local fish are housed in aquariums as part of a Western Ridged Mussel host-fish study at Fort Hunter Liggett, California, July 28, 2026. Environmental staff are studying which fish species can successfully support mussel larvae, called glochidia, to better understand and manage the Western Ridged Mussel population on the installation.
