On Nov. 22, 2022, the United States Marine Band said a final farewell to one of its own in a funeral ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. Oboist James "Jim" Dickey served in "The President's Own" from 1977 to 2005. He was a frequently featured soloist and served as a tour coordinator with the band. In addition to band support of the funeral, many band members and friends came out in honor of Jim and in support of his family.
