    First Army

    Competitors from across the First Army formation review the task, conditions and standards for the Best Observer Coach/Trainer Competition during the in‑brief at McGregor Range, N.M., Aug. 21, 2026.     Observer Coach/Trainers (OC/Ts) are the Army’s premier master trainers, professionals who sharpen the Nation’s warfighting advantage to a razor’s edge. Their work ensures that Army Reserve and National Guard Soldiers embody precision, lethality, discipline, and a warrior mindset. The Gen. John J.
