U.S. Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Rick Yamamoto, assigned to the 100th Battalion, 442nd Infantry Regiment answering questions and working with translator to share information for fellow Tentara Nasional Indonesia–Angkatan Darat (TNI-AD) soldiers regarding the 81mm mortar gunner's exam during a mortar familiarization event as part of Exercise Ksatria Warrior 2026 (KW26) at Baturaja Combat Training Center, Indonesia, Aug. 18, 2026. KW26 is the second iteration of the bilateral Army-to-Army military exercise between U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) and TNI-AD forces. Operation is focused on building long-lasting partnerships, expanding bilateral interoperability, and increasing unit readiness. Familiarization events provide opportunities for both forces to share expertise and better understand each other's equipment, procedures and tactics.
