    A Shahed-style target drone breaks apart at the moment of impact after being struck by a counter-drone interceptor during Exercise Baltic Trust 2026 at Jaunzemi, Latvia, Aug. 13, 2026. Debris and smoke marked the hit at altitude, ending a tracking sequence that began when sensors on the ground acquired the target minutes earlier. Kinetic intercepts like this one gave participating nations a chance to measure how quickly their detection, tracking and engagement systems could work together against a single incoming threat.
