TUMON, Guam (Aug. 4, 2026) – U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Brett Mietus, commander, Joint Region Marianas, speaks during the 112th Association of Pacific Ports Annual Conference, hosted by the Port Authority of Guam at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Guam, Aug. 4.
As a keynote speaker, Mietus emphasized the importance of sustained federal, territorial and private-sector partnerships in strengthening the resilient infrastructure necessary to support Guam's economic growth.
The conference provides a forum for maritime leaders and stakeholders to strengthen partnerships, exchange best practices and advance resilient port systems that support communities, commerce and security throughout the Pacific.
The Association of Pacific Ports (APP) is a trade and information association founded in 1913 as the Pacific Coast Association of Port Authorities (PCAPA) for the purpose of promoting increased efficiency and effectiveness of the ports of the Pacific.
