U.S. Air National Guard Senior Airman Kyle Freeman, a civil engineer assigned to the 157th Air Refueling Wing, flies aboard a New Hampshire Army National Guard UH-60 Blackhawk on his way to Ft. Devens Army Reserve Training Area, Massachusetts, Aug. 10, 2026. Freeman's travel was part of the week-long Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force Region 1 Patriot Forge II exercise. During the exercise, Air National Guard civil engineers from Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine gained hands-on combat skills with a focus on tactical combat casualty care, convoy operations, base defense, and dismounted patrol tasks to make them more lethal and survivable.
