U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) fire M4 carbines and SIG Sauer MCX-Rattler LTs while advancing toward their targets in preparation for a critical task evaluation during a special reconnaissance program of instruction (POI) at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, July 31, 2026. The POI developed reconnaissance skills to improve situational awareness and support operational decision-making. The training strengthened individual weapons proficiency, speed and accuracy through repetitive, performance-based drills with assigned and mission-specific weapon systems.
