Shop 89 Apprentice Taylin Williams secures structural joints while building a custom scaffolding platform for the New Hampshire project. Williams, who is set to graduate from the shipyard's apprenticeship program in August, views the daily challenges of scaffold design as a rewarding mental and physical exercise. "I love my job because it’s fun and it's a great workout—you don't have to go to the gym after work," said Williams. "I look at it like adult Legos. Shipwright is all about building and using your brain. It's not all muscle. You have to figure out a way to build things in small areas and big areas safely for others to use, and build it so it’s not harder to tear down later."
