JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii — Crewmembers of the Arleigh Burke class guided-missile destroyer USS Daniel Inouye (DDG 1118) and members of the Navy League of the United States Honolulu Council flash “shaka” signs, a friendly gesture that expresses gratitude and aloha spirit, in front of the ship’s close-in weapons system during a shipboard tour, July 30, 2026. Daniel Inouye Sailors hosted the visit as part of the Navy Region Hawaii and Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific shipboard tour program, which provides local civic, military and school groups the opportunity to visit U.S. Navy ships and learn about the important role they conduct to maintain readiness and ensure national security in the U.S. Pacific Fleet region.
