U.S. Navy Lt. Cmdr. Paul Rodgers, a command chaplain for Marine Corps Base Quantico, recites an opening prayer during a retirement ceremony for retired U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Kirk Jansen, the deputy of public works for MCB Quantico, at Little Hall on MCB Quantico, Virginia, July 29, 2026. Jansen retired after completing a total of 44 years of dedicated service to the Marine Corps. During the ceremony, he was recognized for his efforts in fostering a culture of professionalism and innovation, and was presented with the Meritorious Civilian Service Award, the Secretary of the Navy Award and a retirement certificate.
