YOKOSUKA, Japan (July 16, 2026) – Staff members from Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) Public Works Department brief local high school students on construction safety standards and operational protocols during a tour of the Public Works Department building and wood shop for the Teen Career Showcase. Organized by CFAY Child and Youth Programs, the visit highlighted the engineering, project management, and safety careers essential to sustaining base infrastructure. CFAY provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands, and more than 27,000 military and civilian personnel and their families.
