U.S. Army Sgt. Madison Albers, a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter crew chief assigned to the 3rd Assault Helicopter Battalion, 1st Aviation Regiment, 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, fires an M240H machine gun during an aerial gunnery qualification at Lielvārde Air Base, Latvia, July 14, 2026. The weapon and the range below are reflected in her helmet visor as she engages ground targets during the qualification, known as a Table VI (6), a graded live-fire exercise flown across day and night iterations. V Corps is the U.S. Army's only forward-deployed corps, serving as the senior tactical headquarters for Army forces in Eastern Europe to deter conflict and provide combat-ready forces alongside our NATO Allies.
