Post-Super Typhoons Sinlaku and Bavi, Rota, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Island suffered significant damage, with power being down for almost a week. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Temporary Power Team, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), contractors and other agencies have coordinated to ship generators to the island to restore essential power for life support functions after the devastation post- Super Typhoons Sinlaku and Bavi. As of July 17, 2026. Four generators have been installed on the island to provide power for both shelters on the island holding about 100 people. Lt. Col. Simratpal “Simmer” Singh, Deputy Commander, USACE – Japan Engineer District said, “We've earned their trust because we continue to deliver that which we promise.” While surveying the conditions around Rota, Singh, along with other USACE leadership met with (l-r) Patrick Guerrero, Governor’s Authorized Representative; David M.
