A cross-disciplinary team Fleet Readiness Center East recently responded to an urgent fleet request and reduced the manufacturing turnaround for a CH-53K King Stallion heat exchanger bracket from an estimated eight- to 10-week lead time to just over 12 hours, allowing Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 461 (HMH-461) to return an aircraft to mission-capable status and meet operational requirements. Team members from the Manufacturing Planning Department, Digital Data Center Engineering Programming and Organic Manufacturing worked together to rapidly respond to the squadron’s needs.
