U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Brock Riskey, an electrician with the 119th Civil Engineer Squadron, 119th Wing, North Dakota Air National Guard, and U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Jack Sullivan, an electrical power production journeyman with the same unit, use the "Slash and Splash" method to backfill a crater with flowable fill material during Exercise AGILE HOOLIGAN in Fargo, N.D., June 9, 2026. The technique quickly prepared the crater for a rapid-set concrete cap, restoring the runway's structural integrity. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Tech. Sgt. Ellen Solberg)
