Civilian contractors set up HESCO barriers within National Defense Area 2 near Fort Hancock, Texas, July 10, 2026. The barriers are delivered to designated areas to support ongoing barrier reinforcement efforts along the U.S. southern border. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
