Fort Bragg, NC – Recently, U.S. Army Special Operations Civil Affairs soldiers communicate with hand signals during a training certification exercise, or CERTEX, demonstrating their ability to maintain situational awareness and coordinate actions under fire as part of tactical training. The CERTEX focuses on Tactical Combat Casualty Care, or TCCC, readiness, reacting to small arms fire and ambush scenarios, and preparing soldiers to identify and mitigate civil network vulnerabilities, manage crises, practice civil-military coordination, and demonstrate the ability to build trust, and protect critical infrastructure to support civilian and military resilience in unstable and/or hostile environments.
