Forest Service law enforcement officers from across the country gather at the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit July 4, 2026, to support Fourth of July celebrations that attracted more than 327,000 visitors. Thirty-one law enforcement officers and special agents reported for duty during the holiday weekend to support activities at beaches and campgrounds across the basin and to assist state and county law enforcement agencies in responding to emergencies and directing traffic.
