Forest Service law enforcement officers from across the country gather on the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, July 4, 2026, during a multi-agency holiday public safety deployment. Thirty-one law enforcement officers and special agents reported for duty across the holiday weekend to support Fourth of July celebration activities that attracted more than 327,000 visitors at beaches and campgrounds across the basin, while assisting state and county law enforcement partner agencies in responding to emergencies and directing traffic.
