U.S. Coast Guard continues post-Bavi port recovery operations in Guam and CNMI

A U.S. Coast Guard dive team from the Regional Dive Locker in Hawai’i, aboard a Station Apra Harbor 45-foot Response Boat-Medium, prepare to begin work on Buoy 2 at the Outer Apra Harbor entrance of Guam on July 8, 2026. The buoy moved off station during the storm into the channel, where vessels expect safe water, preventing large commercial vessel traffic from entering the port. U.S. Coast Guard crews continue to assess aids to navigation, waterways, and channel conditions across the Marianas following Super Typhoon Bavi, working toward reopening ports to commercial operations as soon as it is safe to do so.
