U.S. Soldiers with 62nd Engineer Battalion, assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border, in support of Operation Ardent Vanguard, and a U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) agent, infill on a mountaintop in the Big Bend sector, Texas, during Operation Muleskinner Trailblazer III, June 30, 2026.The joint team met with other agents to replace an inoperable USBP weather station that was knocked down during a storm, restoring critical communication and monitoring capabilities. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
