A senior U.S. Navy officer in dress white uniform is rendering a salute at what appears to be a formal military ceremony. Multiple other naval personnel in white uniforms are visible in the background, also saluting. The setting appears to be an outdoor venue with a modern building and palm trees visible.

U.S. Navy Vice Adm. Brendan McLane arrives at the Naval Surface Forces change of command ceremony onboard Naval Amphibious Base, Coronado, California on July 3, 2026. During the ceremony, which was presided over by U.S. Navy Adm. Steve Koehler, commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet, U.S. Navy Vice Adm. Joe Cahill relieved McLane as commander, Naval Surface Forces, and commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (CNSP). The mission of CNSP is to man, train, and equip the Surface Force to provide fleet commanders with credible naval power to control the sea and project power ashore.
