Military medical personnel in camouflage uniforms are performing what appears to be a tactical combat casualty care (TCCC) exercise or actual medical treatment under red lighting conditions. Multiple soldiers are gathered around a patient on a surface covered with a mylar/emergency thermal blanket, with at least one soldier bearing a visible US Army patch. Blanchfield Army Community Hospital’s Education and Staff Development team recently conducted Delayed Evacuation Casualty Management (DECM) training for medics from the 2nd Mobile Brigade Combat Team and BACH. The hands-on training reinforces the skills needed to provide prolonged casualty care when evacuation is delayed or resources are limited.

By building confidence and strengthening lifesaving capabilities, this training helps ensure our medical teams are prepared to deliver exceptional care whenever and wherever it’s needed.
