The last C-23 "Sherpa" in the Oklahoma Army National Guard inventory is towed from its hanger for the last time before being turned into the Army Aviation Command. The Oklahoma Army National Guard has operated the C-23 since 1996 and the unit deployed to Iraq three times between 2005 and 2009. The C-23 and its crews have been credited with saving countless Coalition Force lives in Iraq due to their ability to conduct short notice, close-in cargo drops in combat zones.
