NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO (June 26, 2026) – Vice Adm. Brendan McLane, commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, left, relieves Capt. Andrew Bucher, center, as commanding officer of Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Jack H. Lucas (DDG 125), during a change of command ceremony, June 26. During the ceremony, which was presided over by McLane, Bucher was relieved by Capt. Robert Niemeyer as the ship’s commanding officer. The mission of Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet is to man, train, and equip the Surface Force to provide fleet commanders with credible naval power to control the sea and project power ashore.
