NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO (June 26, 2026) – U.S. Navy Sailors parade the colors during the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Jack H. Lucas (DDG 125) change of command ceremony, June 26. During the ceremony, which was presided over by Vice Adm. Brendan McLane, commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet. Capt. Andrew Bucher was relieved by Capt. Robert Niemeyer as the ship’s commanding officer. The mission of Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet is to man, train, and equip the Surface Force to provide fleet commanders with credible naval power to control the sea and project power ashore.
