NAVAL STATION ROTA, Spain (June 17, 2026) - Operations Specialist 1st Class Colin Black, assigned to Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Oscar Austin (DDG 79), embraces his child on the pier after the ship’s return to its homeport of Naval Station (NAVSTA) Rota, Spain, June 17, 2026. Oscar Austin returned from a scheduled deployment in support of U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa strategic objectives and U.S., Allied, and partner interests. As the "Gateway to the Mediterranean," NAVSTA Rota provides U.S. and Allied forces a strategic hub for operations wherever and whenever they are needed.
