Retired U.S. Marine Corps Maj. James Capers receives the Medal of Honor from the 47th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, during a Medal of Honor award ceremony at the White House, Washington, D.C., June 18, 2026. During the ceremony, Trump also awarded the Medal of Honor to U.S. Army Maj. Nicholas Dockery and posthumously to Marine Corps Col. John Ripley.
