NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO (June 17, 2026) - Vice Adm. Brendan McLane, commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (CNSP), left, presents a challenge coin to Machinist Mate Fireman Javantay James, assigned to Arleigh-Burke class guided-missile destroyer USS Chafee (DDG 90), during a visit to the ship, June 17. The mission of CNSP is to man, train, and equip the Surface Force to provide fleet commanders with credible naval power to control the sea and project power ashore.
