NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO (June 10, 2026) – Lt Gabriel Lopez, damage control assistant aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Stockdale (DDG 106), discusses operations on the bridge during a tour of the ship for Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force crew members and officer trainees, June 10. The tour was held to strengthen relations and enhance resiliency and interoperability between U.S. and Japanese forces, and other regional allies and partners. The mission of Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet is to man, train, and equip the Surface Force to provide fleet commanders with credible naval power to control the sea and project power ashore.
