NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO (June 10, 2026) – Lt. Elizabeth Krug, fire control officer aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Stockdale (DDG 106), center, explains the purpose of the aft missile deck during a tour of the ship with Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force crew members and officer trainees, June 10. The tour was held to strengthen relations and enhance resiliency and interoperability between U.S. and Japanese forces, and other regional allies and partners. The mission of Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet is to man, train, and equip the Surface Force to provide fleet commanders with credible naval power to control the sea and project power ashore.
