Santico Valenzuela, commanding officer of the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), transits from the upper vehicle stowage area to the hangar bay during a ship visit, June 11, 2026. The U.S. Navy’s east coast lead for amphibious operations and expertise, ESG 2 provides timely, operational, amphibious expertise in support of national tasking to sustain maritime security and defense of the nation.
