U.S., German troops march to honor 90th Infantry Division in Normandy ceremony

U.S. Army Lt. Col. Tim Jones, assigned to the U.S. Army Reserve’s 90th Sustainment Brigade, delivers remarks during a ceremony honoring the 90th Infantry Division June 5, 2026, in Picauville, France. The formation marched from the Picauville Town Hall to a monument dedicated to the 90th Infantry Division, known as the “Tough ’Ombres,” which fought through Normandy following the D-Day landings. The 90th Sustainment Brigade traces its lineage to the 90th Infantry Division, and the ceremony paid tribute to the division’s service, sacrifice and role in the liberation of the region during World War II. More than 600 U.S. service members, including 30 assigned to the 29th Infantry Division, are in Normandy to commemorate the 82nd anniversary of the D-Day landings.
