Commanders in the Franco-German Brigade carry a ceremonial wreath to a plaque honoring two American nurses, Kenneth J. Moore and Robert E. Wright, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, for their service during World War II, Angoville-au-Plain, France, June 6, 2026. The Toccoa monument links the training of American paratroopers in Georgia, where the 501st PIR was formed, to their actions in Normandy with the 101st Airborne Division after the D-Day landings.
